Joanie Byrnes’ conservative Catholic family never talked to her about birth control, but they also didn’t stand in her way when she decided she wanted it. Insured through most of her life, Byrnes considers herself lucky, but still understands the difficulties other women face. Now, helping women find out about health services is a part of her job.
